  • Eligibility

    • Recipient must be diagnosed with a developmental disability. Developmental disability is defined as a condition due to an impairment in physical, learning, language or behavior beginning during the child’s developmental period. This includes but is not limited to; cerebral palsy, autism, down syndrome, spina bifida, and genetic disorders.

    • Applicants of all ages are accepted.

    • Priority is given to residents of southern West Virginia.

  • Coverage

    Some examples of what we may cover include:

    • Positional equipment not covered by insurance

    • Adaptive toys

    • Speech Generating Devices

    • Home Accessibility

    • Orthotic Devices

    However, this list is not comprehensive. If you have any questions about whether or not a needed item may be covered, feel free to contact us.

  • Guidelines

    • Beginning in 2025 grants will be awarded quarterly (March 31st, June 30th, September 30th, December 31st)

    • Providing an insurance denial letter with your application increases the chances of being selected

    • If an application is denied due to insufficient funding it may be resubmitted for the next grant period

    • Beneficiaries may be granted one item per year in excess of 1,000 +.

    • Grants are awarded based on available funding and prioritized by need, with medical necessity taking priority over recreation.
