How We Support the Disability Community

  • Grant Funding
We provide financial support for adaptive equipment, therapy-related items, and other essential resources that improve daily life. Our grants are designed to cover the gaps insurance often leaves behind.

    Adaptive Sports & Recreation
We help individuals access adaptive sports and recreational equipment that promote movement, confidence, inclusion, and joy—opening doors to experiences that might otherwise be out of reach.

    Experiences & Opportunities
Beyond equipment, we fund experience-based giveaways and opportunities that create lasting memories, build independence, and support emotional well-being.

    Community Investment
We sponsor and support like-minded organizations, disability-related conferences, and initiatives that strengthen the broader disability community and expand access through collaboration.

What Makes Us Different

Part of what makes the Skylar Henkes Foundation unique is how deeply the Henkes family is involved in its mission.

Autumn and Brandon personally grow and sell all of the foundation’s locally grown, seasonal flowers on their family farm in Camp Creek, West Virginia. From planting and harvesting to arranging and selling, every step is done by hand and with intention.

These flowers are most often sold at local markets, with plans to expand into a retail location in 2026—allowing the foundation to grow its impact and reach even more families. Every bloom represents a choice to turn loss into something useful, hopeful, and life-giving.
